This Field Trip was Awesome!
Shenandoah Mountain overview
Have you ever been to Safari Park in Natural Bridge, Va? If not you have got to go! They are gearing up for the new season and will open this Saturday!
I was going through my old photo of the many field trips that my family has enjoyed throughout the years of homeschooling our boys and discovered these pictures, jewels of my family’s memories of homeschooling fun!
I don’t know how to express the love and joy that I feel when looking back at these pictures. Remembering when we were homeschooling, and taking our children out for safari, swashbuckling adventures! It was pre-internet, pre-FaceBook, pre-Instagram. Pre of any, right in the moment, action memory capturing capabilities. Yet, we did have cameras, and the local Wal-mart to give us hard disc and printed copies of our beautiful memories!
This day was filled with exotic animals coming face close to us, snatching our buckets of feed from our hands, to the delight of our then young boys!
We walked all around the park meeting and greeting gentle beast that seemed to love our attention. Our boys learned what a bison, ostrich, and camel looked like up close and personal. They reached out and touched the furry hairs on the many animals heads! How awesome is that!
This day was so enjoyable, that we talked about it for days, and the boys went home to write all about their exciting adventure at Safari park!
The beauty and freedom of homeschooling let us get out to enjoy nature as a family unit when ever we want to! Get outside, you will have wonderful memories to cherish if you do!
